Questions about the IT health check
What is an IT health check?
An IT health check is a structured review of how well your company's technology is protected and maintained. This free version is a self-assessment with 18 questions across six areas: network and infrastructure, cybersecurity and endpoint protection, Microsoft 365 and identity security, backup and disaster recovery, IT support and monitoring, and business continuity and compliance.
How long does the IT assessment take?
Most people finish in 5 to 7 minutes. You answer one question at a time, and you can go back and change any answer before you see your results.
Is the IT health check free? Do I need to sign up?
Yes, it's free. There's no registration and no email address required. Your answers stay in your browser and aren't sent to NetworkingPulse.
Does this cybersecurity assessment scan my network or computers?
No. It's a self-assessment based only on your answers. It doesn't scan, test or connect to your systems, so it can't detect actual vulnerabilities. For a hands-on review of your environment, talk to an IT professional.
How is my IT health score calculated?
Each answer earns points: "Yes, fully implemented and verified" earns 5, "Partially implemented" earns 2, "I'm not sure" earns 1, and "No" earns 0. Your total out of 90 is shown as a score from 0 to 100. Scores of 90 to 100 mean a Strong IT Foundation, 75 to 89 a Good Foundation with Opportunities to Improve, 50 to 74 Elevated IT Risk, 25 to 49 Significant IT Gaps, and 0 to 24 Critical Attention Recommended.
Which security frameworks is the assessment based on?
Each question maps to related areas of the CIS Critical Security Controls v8.1, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 and ISO/IEC 27001:2022. The optional business details add notes on requirements such as HIPAA, the FTC Safeguards Rule, PCI DSS, CMMC and Texas data protection law. The mapping shows where each question comes from. It isn't an audit or a compliance determination.
